Race Report: CIBC Run for the Cure 2014

Last Sunday my friends and family participated in the CIBC Run for the Cure. It was the second time we have walked/ran it as a team in support of a friend who had breast cancer.

There were 15 of us in total that signed up and we fundraised over $4,300! The 5k/1k walk/run is basically just a victory lap for all our work raising money for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. It is also a wonderful reason to get everyone together and enjoy what has turned out to be a lovely October day both years.

The event is amazing and I am always overwhelmed by the incredible positivity and determination of all the participants. Despite being a smaller location, the Surrey Run for the Cure raised $243,605 through the efforts of over 1,300 participants.

  1. Wow, that’s A LOT of money for just 1300 people! And well done on raising your fair share of that! My Mum had breast cancer a couple of years ago so it’s a cause close to my heart.
