Freshii Juice Cleanse – Day 2

I went to bed early last night, around 8:00pm, and slept like a baby. I even woke up around 10:00pm, moved my laundry from the washer to the dryer, and fell back asleep after reading about two pages of my book. My alarm went off at 5:45am and I hit sleep a few times but still got up before 6:30am.

My co-worker, who is also doing the 3-day cleanse, had already picked up my juices for me when I arrived at work. I drank my Green Energy juice right away, around 8:00am.

She had also borrowed a sign from the store with the instructions and FAQ. I still find that the cleanse is really lacking in nutritional information and rationale. Why do you eat the salad last? Why these specific juices? Why this order?

Freshii Juice Cleanse Instructions

The following information is from the Freshii sign shown above.

Pre-cleanse: In the days preceding your cleanse, limit your intake of alcohol, caffeine, processed foods and refined sugars. Increase the amount of fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet to help jump-start the cleansing process.

Cleanse: Start each morning of the cleanse with a glass of warm lemon water. Drink juices every 2.5-3 hours apart and end your day with a detoxifying salad.

  5. Metaboost Salad

Drink 8-10 glasses of water throughout the day in addition to the Freshii juices.

Strenuous exercise should be avoided due to reduced calorie intake, but moderate exercise is beneficial and highly recommended. Try light yoga, walking or stretching.

If you feel hungry during your cleanse, increase the amount of water you are drinking throughout the day. Herbal teas are also allowed. If you must eat something, reach for raw or lightly cooked fruits and vegetables. Listen to your body and do what feels right for you.

Post-cleanse: No information found. However, I did find a blog post which contains a response from a Freshii nutritionist on this subject here.

I felt tired and lethargic for most of the morning. At 11:00am, I drank the Carrot Zinger juice and then went for a short, slow 4k run at noon. I felt a little depleted plus was still feeling the effects of my back-to-back long runs on the weekend. My back has been a little sore this week (I sit all day at work plus during my commute) which reminded me that I need to do yoga more frequently and consistently. After my run, I ate my Metaboost salad.

I drank my Might Detox juice before I left work. I decided that it would be a good idea to make another salad for dinner since this cleanse doesn’t account for exercise. I used spinach, a bell pepper, and some sesame and sunflower seeds with balsamic and oil dressing. Honestly, salad has never tasted so good! I drank my Red Power juice around 7:00pm and ate a handful of nuts before bed.
