Weekly Training Summary: April 27 to May 3, 2015

This week’s training led up to my second ever marathon! I deeply regret playing the slopitch double header on Friday as my legs were stiff Saturday and still on Sunday for my race. It’s not a particularly athletic sport, but the burst of running as fast as you can combined alternative with standing still really seems to kill my quads. Maybe one day I’ll learn proper pre-race strategy …


  • Evening run – 7 km on road. 


  • Lunch yoga – Breath Flow Meditate class.


  •  Evening run – 6 km on a paved waterfront boulevard.


  •  Rest day

  • Race – BMO Vancouver Marathon!

You may have noticed that I didn’t hit the gym last week. That was somewhat intentional because I didn’t want to over do it before my race. I’m going to try to get back at it soon!



I started running about three years ago. Until this time i had never considered myself a runner and actually hated running. I'm not sure what changed but i'm glad it did! I enjoy sharing my thoughts, training, and experiences through my blog and encouraging and supporting others in their running journeys. Since becoming a runner, I have completed a handful of half marathons, three full marathons, and four ultra marathons. However, my biggest accomplishments have been running the Rim2Rim2Rim in the Grand Canyon and completing a seven-day, 250km stage race in the Alps. These were adventures of a lifetime and something I had never imagined that I would do even in my wildest dreams!
