My friends at Run Like A Girl are hosting their 3rd annual Fight Like A Girl 5km and 10km breast cancer fundraiser on October 18, 2015! This is a local and virtual race so you can participate no matter where you live. I am excited to be participating in the local event this year in Langley, BC.
Run Like A Girl is made up of three inspiring ladies (Dayna, Courtney, and Hailey) who have created an amazing, supportive running community both online and offline. They have hosted 3 virtual/local runs, raised over $20,000 for various charities such as The One Fund and the Breast Cancer Foundation, and donated t-shirts to an orphanage in the Dominican Republic. They are also super bad-ass ultra runners and host adventure retreats in Costa Rica!
The local Fight Like A Girl event will start at 9:00am at Derby Reach Park. There will be door prizes, a pre-run warm up, and a photographer. The race fee includes your bib number, a finishers gift, and a donation to The Breast Cancer Society. There will also be massage therapists on site offering after run massages by donation. The money raised from massages will be donated to The Breast Cancer Society as well.
The finishers gift this year is a Live Love Run hat, which I am super stoked for! I have a Run Like A Girl trucker hat and I love it! I literally wear it everywhere.
