Weekly Training Summary: July 6 to 12, 2015

This past weekend was the beloved Knee Knacker 30 mile race in North Vancouver. It was also the weekend of my slopitch playoffs, which really threw a wrench into my running schedule. My “long run” on Saturday ended up being three short runs  with breaks in between to cheer friends on that were running the race. I had set a low goal of 50 km for the week which I didn’t even make having actually only ran 38.7 km total.


  • Lunch run – 3 km on road.


  • Lunch run – 9.1 km on road.



  • Morning run – 7.2 km on road.


  • Lunch run – 6 km on road.


  • Morning run – 13 km on trail.
  • Slopitch playoffs – two games.


  • Slopitch playoffs – two games.

Sometimes things don’t work out the way I want them to but I’m not going to let it bum me out! I’m going to get right back on it and set a goal of 75 km for this week again! I’ve got 19 more days to run 195 km in order to achieve my goal of 300 km for the month which averages out to 10 km per day. Up until now, I’ve been averaging 8.75 km per day so I think bumping it up to 10 is doable!



  1. Did I mention that you’re a machine? 10km per day?? I’m already struggling with 3km per day!! To be fair, though, I’m not running an ultra this year! Keep up the good work, my friend!

    I might do nooner yoga on Wednesday, and maybe even the morning run on Thursday. We shall see how the week progresses!

  2. You’re right. Sometimes things don’t work out 100%. That’s just life. It’s okay. All runners face that challenge. It’s how you continue that matters. Nice blog! 🙂
