Summary

BeetBoost is an intriguing product and I’d like to continue to test it over a longer timeframe to judge it’s effects on my performance. The taste leaves something to be desired but the ingredients are natural. As far as price, it’s not bad if you live in the states but with international shipping and the exchange rate, it can be a little pricey.

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by BeetBoost. I received free samples for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own.

Since signing up for the TransAlpine Run, a 7-day stage race in the Alps in September, I’ve been looking for the best gear and nutrition options with a focus on small, packable size and speeding up recovery. So I was excited when BeetBoost kindly sent me some samples of their product to try and review!

BeetBoost is powdered beets and tart cherries conveniently packaged in individual portions created to boost energy, mental clarity and muscle endurance. When they first contacted me I had no idea a product like this even existed. I had long heard the benefits of both beets (performance) and tart cherries (recovery) but never knew you could get them in a convenient powdered form. Each packet contains the equivalent of 6 medium-sized beets and a bowl full of tart cherries! Just add water or add to your smoothie! They recommend drinking one about 30 minutes before exercise.

Despite hating most vegetable juices, I actually love beet-based juices. And I freaking love tart cherry juice! I occasionally get beet juice as a treat from a store near my work. At about $6 a pop, it isn’t cheap but I definitely don’t have the time or will to juice my own beets. Tart cherry juice can be bought at a select few stores in my city but it’s inconvenient to go to those stores so I don’t make it there often. It’s also a bit pricey at about $10 per litre. The individual BeetBoost packages are WAY more convenient!

I tried BeetBoost both mixed in water and mixed into my smoothie. The flavour is earthy and a little bitter but there are literally only two ingredients: concentrated beet juice powder and tart cherry juice powder. I definitely appreciate that they have NOT added sugars or artificial sweeteners.

Features:

  • No artificial or other sweeteners
  • Gluten-free
  • Vegan
  • Non-GMO
  • 100% concentrated beet and tart cherry juices
  • No preservatives
  • No fillers
  • No added flavors

After only a few packages, it’s hard to comment on whether it has improved my performance or recovery but I am looking forward to using it over a longer term. It’s great to see that they stand by their product offer a guarantee on improved performance or your money back.
