I’ve always wanted to be one of those people who wears sunglasses, but for some reason I typically opt instead to hang out on the beach sans eye protection most certainly damaging my retinas. Sunglasses and I just never really clicked. Over the last few years, I’ve purchased a couple pairs of cheapos from those booths they have in the mall that offer 2 for $20. There are very few styles that look okay on my face: aviators or thick plastic frames, oh yeah and heart-shaped!

Now that I spend so much time outside, I’ve been reconsidering my stance on shades. I jumped at the opportunity to test the XX2i Bermuda1 sunglasses as a BibRave Pro and was thrilled to find out that they were even polarized!

The Bermuda1 sunglasses arrived in a large, super-padded case, which also included a thin sunglasses bag and even a strap to keep the shades secured to your face during activities. The frames are tortoiseshell and the lenses are tinted blue and reflective. A few Pros initially commented on the large-ish size of the lenses but quickly got used to them. Personally, I really like the size of the lenses and I’m amazed at how good this style looks on everyone!

They showed up at the perfect time. We just started getting some beautiful weather in the Vancouver area and I wore the Bermuda1 sunglasses most days for my commute to/from work as well as lunch time walks.

Despite the Bermuda1 model being touted as “lifestyle” sunglasses, I did in fact wear them for the Vancouver Sun Run 10k (how appropriate!) and they were fantastic. I totally forgot they were even on my face for most of the race. They are light, comfortable, and I didn’t have any fogging issues. My nose was slightly sweatier but in their defence, it was a really warm day!

The only thing I might consider a con, is that I find the polarized lenses makes my iPhone’s screen look a bit funky when looking through them. It’s not a big deal, and you can still see the screen, it just took a little getting used to for me.

Overall, I’m really impressed with the XX2i Bermuda1 sunglasses and am looking forward to rocking them all summer! They will be on sale starting Tuesday, April 26 with coincides with the next #BibChat. We even have a promo code to share for anyone interested in getting a pair themselves …

I started running about three years ago. Until this time i had never considered myself a runner and actually hated running. I'm not sure what changed but i'm glad it did! I enjoy sharing my thoughts, training, and experiences through my blog and encouraging and supporting others in their running journeys. Since becoming a runner, I have completed a handful of half marathons, three full marathons, and four ultra marathons. However, my biggest accomplishments have been running the Rim2Rim2Rim in the Grand Canyon and completing a seven-day, 250km stage race in the Alps. These were adventures of a lifetime and something I had never imagined that I would do even in my wildest dreams!

  2. These look super badass. I also love the integration of tagboard to see how the shades look on other people too!
