Running for Two

Wow, it’s been 4 months since I blogged. My last post was right around the time I found out I was pregnant so needless to say I’ve been a little distracted since! You may have already heard the news on Instagram but if not, we are expecting our first child in October.

Here is a brief recap of my pregnancy so far …

I’m in my 24th week now (over halfway) and time is flying by. The first trimester was exhausting, but luckily I didn’t experience much morning sickness. The second trimester has been a lot better and I even managed to move into our new home and take a 12-day trip to France.

I’ve done a little running throughout as well, although less than I had hoped due to both being pregnant and really busy. In the first trimester, I completed a few half marathons (really slowly) and more recently I ran an 8.5 km 5 Peaks trail race, all with my pregnant friend Courtney, from Run Like A Girl, who is about 4 weeks further along than me.

And now for the question everyone is dying to know the answer to … is it a boy or girl? Well sorry to disappoint, we have elected to wait until the birth to find out which seems to drive a lot of “type A” people crazy!

More pregnancy/baby posts to come 🙂

I started running about three years ago. Until this time i had never considered myself a runner and actually hated running. I'm not sure what changed but i'm glad it did! I enjoy sharing my thoughts, training, and experiences through my blog and encouraging and supporting others in their running journeys. Since becoming a runner, I have completed a handful of half marathons, three full marathons, and four ultra marathons. However, my biggest accomplishments have been running the Rim2Rim2Rim in the Grand Canyon and completing a seven-day, 250km stage race in the Alps. These were adventures of a lifetime and something I had never imagined that I would do even in my wildest dreams!
